Efficient, ergonomically designed, space-saving workflow organisation for the feather, colour and cloaca/vent sexing of day old chicks. While carousel structures are sometimes difficult to position in the available room space, this straight, in-line sexing system is a good alternative for difficult spaces. Male and female chicken outlets can be positioned at both ends as well as from the center of the sexing system, resulting in maximum flexibility for connection to further processing such as vaccination, counting and boxing. A counting function can also be included, to keep track of sexing speed. When the by-pass unit is included, chicks can be diverted directly to sequencing steps, prior to- and without sexing for those batches that do not require gender separation. Flexible design, with capacity from 8 up to 36 operators.  

How it works

  • Chicks enter the in-line sexing system and are diverted over two conveyors on each side of the sexing line
  • Both sides have workstations, where operators can observe the chicks to determine gender
  • Each workstation includes two funnels for male and female sorting, a light fixture with socket outlet and adjustable droppings pot when placed for cloaca in-line sexing
  • Sexed chicks slide gently via chutes onto two space-saving parallel discharge belt conveyors under the table
  • The slow moving conveyor and slide system returns any unsexed chicks to the start point via the central sloped conveyor
  • Work stations are easily adjusted to left- or right-handed operation
